Dr. Johnson grew up in Jamaica. Early in his youth he became interested in veterinary medicine while accompanying his dad who was a trained agriculture and animal science professional on his farm visits across the island of Jamaica. As soon as he was able to, he pursued training towards veterinary medicine by first completing a BSc Agriculture degree from Prairie View A& M University in Texas followed by a DVM degree from Tuskegee University in Alabama. Dr. Johnson returned to Texas where he practiced for 25 years before he and his family relocated to Charleston, SC in 2016 in support of his wife’s career.

Dr. Johnson is married and has two daughters. The oldest, Chloe, graduated from his alma mater with a degree in computer science and his youngest is pursuing her degree in biology at Florida Southern College. His love for practicing veterinary medicine has rubbed off on his younger daughter, Tabitha, who has shown an unwavering interest and has set her career goal to become a veterinarian. With that as a motivator and his love for practicing veterinary medicine, Dr. Johnson has been looking for a community he could serve and apply his years of experience while creating a successful practice he could pass on to his daughter when she becomes a veterinarian. He and his family think that Hollywood and the surrounding community is the place to serve.
